ACEROS AREQUIPA CONSOLIDA SU LIDERAZGO EN LA EVALUACIÓN DE SOSTENIBILIDAD CORPORATIVA DE S&P (Standard & Poor's)
- Con la alta puntuación alcanzada en la evaluación de sostenibilidad corporativa global de S&P de 2022, la empresa peruana acompaña en el podio a Hyundai Steel de Corea y a Fortescue Metals de Australia.
- Más de 5,300 empresas en todo el mundo han sido evaluadas hasta la fecha, de las cuales 145 compañías pertenecen a la industria del acero.
Lima, 16 de noviembre del 2022.- El esfuerzo y la dedicación en materia de sostenibilidad, ha llevado a la Corporación Aceros Arequipa a ser considerada entre las mejores empresas del mundo, tras alcanzar uno de los puntajes más altos de la industria siderúrgica, en la evaluación de desempeño ambiental, social y de gobernanza empresarial de S&P (Standard & Poor's) 2022.
La evaluación de sostenibilidad corporativa (CSA) de S&P representa el estándar de oro para la sostenibilidad corporativa y es también el más riguroso en la evaluación del desempeño ambiental, social y de gobernanza empresarial a diversas compañías del mundo. Anualmente, reconoce y agrupa a las empresas que mejor gestionan dichos factores. Este desempeño posiciona a CAASA como elegible por tercer año consecutivo a ingresar al índice de sostenibilidad Dow Jones (DJSI) – MILA, cuyos miembros serán anunciados a inicios de diciembre.
Más de 5,300 empresas en todo el mundo han sido evaluadas este año, de las cuales 145 compañías pertenecen a la industria del acero. Cada año, Aceros Arequipa ha logrado superar sus propios retos y este año con los 75 puntos obtenidos en la Evaluación de sostenibilidad corporativa global de S&P se ubica en el decil superior de la industria siderúrgica mundial, junto a (Hyundai Steel) de Corea, y a (Fortescue Metals) de Australia.
Tulio Silgado, gerente general de Aceros Arequipa, mencionó que para lograr estos resultados se necesitó de mucho esfuerzo y compromiso de parte de todos los que integran la corporación. “En Aceros Arequipa, tenemos la práctica de que cada año, luego de los resultados; realizamos un estudio de cierre de brechas en los diferentes ámbitos evaluados; esto nos ayuda a mejorar y potenciar nuestra gestión. Luego de analizar cuáles son estas brechas, se establecen planes de acción con los líderes de toda la corporación y se implementan mejoras a corto, mediano y largo plazo; esto es un compromiso en conjunto”.
Para Aceros Arequipa la sostenibilidad es una prioridad en la agenda de todos los niveles de la organización, razón por la que su estrategia al 2030 se basa en los enfoques ASG (ambiental, social y de gobernanza).
