Aceros Arequipa reporta un alza de 249% en su utilidad neta al cierre de septiembre, alcanzando los S/ 153 millones
Este resultado positivo se debe a mejores resultados en el mercado local peruano, en el colombiano y ventas de subproductos, así como a los menores gastos financieros registrados.
Lima, 5 de noviembre del 2024.- Corporación Aceros Arequipa (CAASA) reportó un incremento del 249% en su utilidad neta consolidada durante los primeros nueve meses del 2024, alcanzando los S/ 153 millones. Esto representa un aumento de S/ 109 millones en comparación con el mismo período del 2023. En el tercer trimestre de este año, la compañía reportó un aumento adicional de S/ 51 millones en su utilidad neta, en comparación con el mismo periodo.
“Logramos un notable incremento en la utilidad neta, gracias a mayores márgenes en el mercado local, incremento de otros productos largos y los mejores resultados en Colombia. Además, la optimización de nuestros procesos nos ha permitido aprovechar al máximo los subproductos derivados, los que se están vendiendo y que aportan a la mejora en los resultados de Aceros Arequipa”, destacó Tulio Silgado, Gerente General de CAASA.
Este crecimiento financiero ha sido impulsado por una sólida estrategia de inversiones enfocada en el crecimiento, rentabilidad y sostenibilidad. En lo que va del año, Aceros Arequipa destinó S/ 287 millones a proyectos clave. En el tercer trimestre, invirtió S/ 87 millones en iniciativas, como la construcción de un nuevo tren de laminación, que entra en operación en enero 2025, la planta de alambres y clavos, implementación de un nuevo horno de cal, una máquina de limpieza de chatarra y el nuevo Centro de Distribución de Lurín, entre otros. Y si bien CAASA va a continuar sus inversiones, estas serán en menor medida ya que se encuentra en las últimas etapas de un ciclo de grandes inversiones que empezó el 2018.
La compañía también ha reducido sus inventarios y, consecuentemente, disminuido su necesidad de financiamiento. Esta estrategia, combinada con menores tasas de interés, ha permitido reducir los gastos financieros, fortaleciendo aún más la rentabilidad de Aceros Arequipa.
Aceros Arequipa mantiene un compromiso constante hacia la sostenibilidad, lo cual se refleja en que aumentó su puntaje en la Evaluación de Sostenibilidad Corporativa (CSA) de S&P Global, alcanzando 73 sobre 100 puntos. Además, por segundo año consecutivo, la compañía recibió la tercera estrella en el programa “Huella de Carbono Perú” del Ministerio de Ambiente. De esta manera, la siderúrgica continúa avanzando hacia la mejora de sus prácticas sostenibles en todos los ámbitos de su cadena de valor.
