Consistently Advancing Toward Zero Disabling Injuries
At CAASA, we are committed to fostering a strong Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) culture. We have identified key risks, with the most critical being severe accidents resulting from failures in our OHS management system, as well as workplace and personal factors that may create substandard conditions. To mitigate these risks, we have implemented initiatives focused on strengthening safety leadership, enhancing our management system, improving risk management, and driving operational excellence through automation and leadership engagement.

We are ISO 45001 certified, demonstrating our commitment to the highest OHS standards, and have incorporated World Steel principles to continuously improve our safety management.
Core Principles:
- All accidents can and must be prevented.
- Leadership is accountable for OHS management in their respective areas.
- Employee commitment and training are essential for effective safety management.
- Working safely is a fundamental requirement for employment in our organization.
- Excellence in health & safety drives better business performance.
We have restructured our OHS management framework across all sites and subsidiaries. Following a situational assessment, we developed a functional plan with a renewed vision, mission, and ten strategic objectives, centered on four key action areas:
- Vision:To drive continuous progress toward zero disabling injuries.
- Mission: To safeguard the lives and well-being of our employees by collaborating with process owners and business leaders to strengthen our OHS culture, ensure safe work environments and processes, and comply with legal and corporate standards.

- Safety Leadership & Culture:Establish robust OHS policies with visible leadership and active worker participation, supported by senior management.
- Health & Safety Management:Implement a certified ISO 45001 Management System encompassing planning, execution, verification, and continuous improvement, including training, management tools, and emergency response protocols.
- Risk Management:Identify hazards and assess risks, prioritizing controls based on the effective GIRO methodology.
- Operational Excellence:Optimize operational processes to enhance both safety and productivity, integrating engineering controls and automation to mitigate risks.

We prioritize full compliance with Law 29783 (Occupational Health & Safety Law) and its regulations (DS 005-2012-TR, DS-42F, and other applicable standards). Our OHS management is supported by an Internal Safety Regulation, risk assessment matrices, safe work procedures, and additional documentation ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Our Corporate OHS Policy, approved by the Board of Directors, defines the guidelines for our OHS Management System. In 2023, the Board approved the OHS functional plan and continues to monitor its progress periodically.

Achieving zero disabling injuries requires a targeted approach, prioritizing the most critical risks. We focus on preventing fatal and disabling accidents in high-risk processes while simultaneously reinforcing our safety culture through structured initiatives.
- Eliminate fatalities
- Reduce accident rates
- Strengthen the OHS culture
